Christmas decorations

So, it has been awhile since I updated my blog, but I decided I would give it another go. Travis and I have had a lot of fun decorating a house for Christmas this year, so I thought I would share some of our decorations.

Christmas isn’t complete without candy! Beautiful dishes with some of our favorites. The “leaves” candle is my favorite scent from bath and body works.

Snow globes make great Christmas decorations! Ours plays White Christmas too. My friend Jessica brought the materials to make snowmen to school to make with some of our students, so I had to make one too! Very cute! Made with rice, socks, buttons, puff paint, and some fabric. I’m not exactly sure how she tied the sock to begin with, but she said she found the project on Pinterest.

We made this homemade decoration last year. It’s a little difficult to see in the light, but it’s red and green letters with gold detailing. Very easy to make, we bought letters in different fonts and sizes, and some blocks to write the letters on. The. We painted them, and hot glued them to a gold rope.

We were very excited to get a nine foot Christmas tree for the house. This sucker is massive! When lit, you can see it all around the block.

Travis and I made homemade ornaments a few years ago. Very simple! Just use foam balls, strips of fabric, and push pins. Great gifts!

Mantels are always an important part of Christmas decorations. The wreath is homemade. I used some loose ornaments and lace covered mason jars.

Of course, we have gotten wonderful Christmas cards this year. We meant to send our own out but just didn’t get to it this season. Travis also picked out Christmas tree tinsel from target.

This is our saxy Santa, a gift from my grandma. For those of you that don’t know, Travis played the saxophone in high school and college. My dad also got us these amazing peanuts characters. There are five characters and they each play two different songs. They send signals to each other and all play along, like a band. You might have noticed the other ones throughout the pictures.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Now to start thinking about the new year, any resolutions brewing out there?
